Burney LeBouef
Treasurer/Secretary
The three careers that I had in my lifetime all involved helping people.
After graduating from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with degrees in Government and History and a teaching certificate in 1968, I was drafted into the US Army.
I served with the Army General Staff at the largest post in South Vietnam for a year.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 1970, I accepted a teaching position with Houston Independent School District and taught for thirty-two years in schools.
I retired from teaching in 2004 and started working in the wine industry.
Before I retired from teaching, I took my students to Western Europe and became interested in the types of grapes and wine areas in Europe, and so I began my third career working for Spec's Liquors in the wine department for eight-teen years.
My time in the Army was really not a career, but I was committed to serve as long as necessary to keep him from having to go to Vietnam.
I am very involved with my local church and attend Bible study weekly.
In summary, I jumped at the opportunity to become a part of Sparkle of Life, because I strongly believe in the value of life and helping others in their time of need. I enjoy spending time with my family, art collecting, studying world history and making a positive impact on earth.Â
